Create an assessment in Respondus Quiz

1. Openrespons quiz.。点击开始标签if it is not open already, and clickOpen Or Createfrom the left-hand navigation.

4. Once the assessment opens, click theEdit tabif it is not open already, and select aquestion typethat you wish to add from the left-hand navigation.
5. Each question type has its own question form that will appear on the right to fill out. There are some fields that are common across all question types:

   • Question Wording- the question itself.

   • Point Value- how many points the question is worth.
6. 完成建立问题后，单击Add to End of Listto add the current question to the end of the question list, which will appear at the bottom of the screen.

Customize settings for a Respondus Quiz assessment

You can set options in Respondus Quiz for how your assessment will display on paper or to students in Canvas, including designating what are called question groups. Question groups enable randomization, allowing you to create a set of questions from which randomly selected questions will be drawn for each student's assessment.

1. Openrespons quiz.。点击开始标签if it is not open already, and clickOpen Or Createfrom the left-hand navigation.
2. 点击Opento open an existing assessment. In the pop-up, select the评估, and clickOpen。
3. 点击Settings tab并选择Settingsin the left-hand navigation.
4. Add or adjust any assessment settings on the right. The settings are nearly identical to theCanvas测验设置。
5. To enable randomization of questions—which can be applied to online or on-paper assessments—select问题组in the left-hand navigation:

   • In the pop-up, selectAdd New Set, if it is not selected already.
   • Enter therangeof questions that will form the question group.

Use a Respondus Quiz assessment online in your Canvas course

If you are using a Respondus Quiz assessment in your Canvas course for the first time, you will need to follow the steps to connect to Canvas first, then follow the steps for importing your assessment. If you have already set up the connection, you can choose the existing connection and go straight to importing your assessment.

1. Openrespons quiz.。点击开始标签if it is not open already, and clickOpen Or Createfrom the left-hand navigation.
2. 点击Opento open an existing assessment. In the pop-up, select the评估, and clickOpen。
3. 点击预览+发布选项卡, selectPublishin the left-hand navigation, and click发布巫师。
4. In the pop-up, select发布单课程。
5. If you have previously used Respondus Quiz with Canvas, select the Canvas server you set up previously.

   • In the first pop-up, select "No, I want to enter the server settings manually", and clickNext。
   • In the "Canvas Server Settings" pop-up, fill in the following:
     • Type "https://canvas.ubc.ca/" into the first address field, and clickExtract。
     • If you receive an error message, log in to your Canvas course and copy the site URL for your course from the browser address bar. Back in Respondus Quiz, paste this link instead into the first address field, then clickExtractagain.

     • Enter your UBC CWL as the username and password.

8. If asked to log in to Canvas, clickOKand log in with your CWL. If prompted to authorize Respondus Quiz access to your Canvas account, click授权。
9. Back in the Respondus Quiz window, clickOKif you see another pop-up asking to log in to Canvas. Then select an评估type在画布中创建。
10. To import your assessment as a new quiz in your Canvas course, selectCreateand姓名your assessment, or select代替to replace an existing quiz in your Canvas course.
11. SelectApply SettingsandApply Question Groupsoptions, if relevant, to include any Respondus Quiz settings and question groups you've set up, then clickNext。
12. You should see a list of all your Canvas courses. Select thecourse您希望将评估导入和，如果相关，则评估you want it to replace, then clickNextagain.
13. A status window will display the importing progress. Please be patient and wait for the importing to finish. A confirmation message will confirm when your publish has completed successfully. ClickFinish。
14. Your assessment will be available in your Canvas course as a Canvas quiz. Note that although Respondus Quiz calls this process "publishing", the quiz will不是be published for students to see in your Canvas course until you manually log in to Canvas and publish it.

6. The "Randomize Questions" section allows you to create up to 10 different versions of the assessment, depending on the settings you choose. Make adjustments as you like, and refer to the steps in the accordion above for customizing settings, if you want to set up question groups for randomization.
7. If you see a "Questions to be included" section, specify the range of questions to be included in the printed document. To include all the questions, leave the fields blank.
8. When you are done, clickSave to Fileto save the assessment as a rich text (.rtf), standard text (.txt), or Microsoft Word (.doc) file that you can use for printing.
